You were once merely a dream

All my hopes a slight twinkle in the sky

You came,

Gave me a place in the world,

Carried me on your wings

Taught me how to fly

 

When I felt I had no one, you were always there

You’ve kept me safe, my soul intact

Both of us fighters, bruised and scarred
